Don't Judge a Book by its Cover This one will make you think twice before judging your crabby old neighbors. You will likely fall in love with this cantankerous old geezer long before the book ends, and, oddly, his multiple attempts at suicide will make you belly laugh. Prepare to shed a tear for a fictional character who will come to feel like someone you once actually knew.
A man called Ove An almost perfect book. A little smarmy here and there and one or two too many examples Ove's quirky behaviour but still a great story. The title should include his wife Sonja's name as her character was just as impressive as his.
A Man called Ove An enjoyable book; a grouchy unhappy man who seems to like no one; cares about real or imagined rules for the area in which he lives. Young family moves in and his tolerance for them develops into friendship.
He just can't seem to get it done. Kill himself, that is. As many methods as he plans out, things always get in the way. Saving a man fallen on the train tracks, for one.
His sorrow over his wife's death has him contemplating how he can join her. But the neighbors, led by a pregnant Indian woman and a cat, just keep getting in the way.
Humorous, warm, witty book about a Saab-driving curmudgeon with a heart of gold. If you don't read this book, you're missing out.
A Man Called Ove Hilariously sad. This is a story about a man who lost his job six months after his wife died. He was determined to end his life and his new neighbor kept interrupting his attempts. The interaction between everyone in the story is very entertaining. It ends with him having a good life four years after meeting his neighbors. A good fast paced book; I didn't want to put it down.
