An impacting book This book gripped me right from the start. I read it in 2 days, which is rare. The author describes the life of army nurses during the Vietnam War. Horrendous conditions for everyone. The main character Frankie, has the friendship of Ethel and Barb. They wonderfully support each other throughout the whole book. When Frankie returns home, there is zero support given. No help with PTSD, nor adapting back home support. She suffers a lot with many different issues. The reader learns a lot through this well researched book. I was a teen/young adult in those years. I knew all the songs she hears. This was an enlightening, thought-provoking book.
The Women Excellent story but be prepared for lots of tears. A trip down memory lane about the Vietnam War. I was a young Mom during those years and really only knew what I saw in the news. Powerful story about those who served and then their treatment by the population upon returning home.
