more research needed The crime is monstrous and sorry, but the culprits motive just doesn't stack up. Plus if you read this book and you are from rural Oz, you will spot many head shaking errors about rural people, none the least being shooting rabbits with a shotgun....and expecting to have something to eat afterwards..
The Dry A real change from the American and British crime stories. A very real Australian story with lots of twists and turns. I look forward to the next book by this author.
Decent debut Succeeded at juggling 2 cases, though was a bit too put-downable. I'd guessed the culprit early-on but didn't know why. Wished told in a way that not so many clues piled on at the end. Interesting enough that I plan to read #2, which says something.
The dry I found this novel engaging. The plot twists kept my interest. I can see this story being brought to the big (or little) screen.
