Amazing! The characters are so real & the plot is addictive. Highly recommend!!
A weak book Well.. I decided to read this book because a friend of mine praised it. I saw relatively high review scores, but didnt really read any reviews. I am sensitive to spoilers and usually do not read reviews, or for example, in the case of movies, do not watch trailers. I want to be surprised.
But sadly, this book was very weak. Most boring first 50 pages. Nothing creative, boring characters, very little detail, almost nothing interesting. The only motivation that kept me reading was those high review scores, I hoped it would somehow turn better, but no. It makes me wonder, have all those reviewers actually read the book, or are they just praising it because others have done so, too?
It was easy to read and maybe opened British society a bit (for me, as a foreigner, to who English is just one of the languages I studied at school).
The only surprise was how bad the book really was. Dont waste your time!
Loved First time reading a book by Paula Hawkins. Definitely will not be my last.
Captivating Read This novel was very easy to read as each chapter kept you wanting to read more - the suspense was constant. However, the end left you with unanswered questions and wanting to know more on how the characters responded to the findings.
The Girl on the Train Average/Disappointing!
I was really excited about this one, as so many people were raving over how good it was at the time I read it. Unfortunately I found it hard to get into – nothing much happened in the first 100 pages. Characters were too depressing and pathetic. Not really fond of novels where woman are written as victims who don’t do anything to help themselves, even when they start to figure out somethings wrong. Mystery wasn’t that clever or original. Liked her writing style so will try her next book, but hope it’s better than this one.
