DNA Horror donor romance ** "Ancestor" by Scott Sigler is a horror monster avaricious predator created for organ donation, by short-sighted and mad scientists, funded by an altruistic industrialist with a failing heart, his brother a sadistic enforcer. Caught in the middle, ensnared by previous (book?) attraction, are the lab team's handsome brave widowed guardian, and their stunning earthy female pilot, trying to escape (previous book?) government good guys. Twist for the hero-heroine couple to be on the wrong side, sort of. Lots of blood and guts, some hanky-panky, cold Canadian scenery, potty humor. Scary end, one surviving mutant means a sequel.
Good read This was an awesome read. A real page turner. The character development was great. The real action didn't start until the end of the book, but you could feel the tension building. Great book.
Action-packed page turner I just love action thrillers that don't waste time with boring character introductions and scene setting. Scott captures the reader's attention every page. The character's personalities reveal themselves through their actions in response to conflict and danger. The story is awesome, the science is cool, and the dialogue is witty. Very well written and entertaining.
